Food.

We will be serving a buffet dinner of Greek food, which will include dolmas, hummus with pita, grilled chicken, beef gyros, couscous and more. Our caterer does not do tastings because she mostly works in craft services for TV and movies. However, one weekend last year she happened to be doing the Greek menu at Lakewood, so we were able to pick up some to-go boxes from the back door of the theater. The food was wonderful, and we got to see the theater set up for a wedding!

Cake.

Our cake is coming from Panini Bakery. We are doing two flavors, vanilla cake with cappuccino mousse and vanilla cake with strawberries and cream filling. We were not planning on having any chocolate cake, but our wedding is the birthday of my matron of honor and the husband of one of my good friends. Chocolate is Claire's favorite, so we are thinking about adding a chocolate birthday cake instead of groom's cake, budget permitting. The cake will be very simple, white frosting with red ribbons around each tier and silver pumpkins as decorative accents. Below are some inspiration pictures.

Candy buffet.

As our favor, we are doing a candy buffet. We couldn't possibly do a Halloween-weekend wedding without candy! I imagine it as the ultimate trick-or-treat experience. I want all the adults at the wedding to feel like kids when looking at it. Last year after Halloween I purchased a number of serving pieces on clearance to use. We will have all the classic fun size Halloween candies, and of course, candy corn! I may also enlist the help of some talented family friends to make some mini caramel apples. Below are some inspiration pics! Update: we're not doing the mini caramel apples, but I did find these adorable buckets for the guests to take home candy. There are many more cute patterns than what you see below!
